Entity Risk Institute (PERI), a nonprofit research institute
focused on support for risk management, has launched
InsuranceForMyNonprofit.org, an innovative website that
helps small and medium sized nonprofit organizations assess
their insurance needs and submit requests for insurance quotes
to participating insurers.
The site includes:
A FREE insurance needs
self-assessment tool with basic guidance and
suggestions based on your responses.
FREE
educational information
about insurance, including material provided
by the Nonprofit Risk Management Center.
A
FREE
process for submitting requests for
insurance quotes to participating insurers.
Access to detailed suggestions based on
the user’s self-assessment.
Educational information can be browsed without registration.
Registration is free and provides access to the insurance needs
self-assessment tool and basic guidance.
Nonprofits
Insurance Alliance Group The Nonprofits Insurance Alliance group is comprised of the
Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk Retention Group (ANI-RRG),
and Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC), both
501(c)(3) nonprofit companies that provide liability insurance
coverages to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. NIAC currently
insures more than 5,500 nonprofits in California.
ANI is currently writing coverage
for 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut,
Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho,
Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri,

11th Edition is a handy guide
that defines 2,800 key insurance and risk management terms in
plain English. This publication from the International Risk
Management Institute (IRMI) interprets unfamiliar terminology
used in insurance specifications and proposals, risk management
reports, and other related written materials. The Glossary
also contains a section on 860 frequently used abbreviations and
acronyms. The 11th Edition was revised in 2006. This is an
excellent resource for full time risk managers as well as those
only deal with risk and insurance occasionally but need to

Accident Preparation and Response TutorialThis accident preparation and
response tutorial is a free, web-based tutorial designed to
teach nonprofit organizations how to respond effectively to
accidents. It focuses on the nonprofit's and its staff's actions
shortly after an incident, during which missteps can have a
significant impact on legal and insurance outcomes. It includes
checklists to print and keep in appropriate locations. The
on-line accident response tutorial was developed by the
Nonprofit Risk Management Center (NRMC) and the Nonprofits'
Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC), with support by a grant
from PERI.
Workplace Safety ToolkitThe Nonprofit Risk Management
Center has launched its new Workplace Safety Toolkit, a free
online resource to help you build a safer workplace.
The Workplace Safety Toolkit has multiple layers of information
and will be helpful to organizations of different sizes and
levels of experience. PERI provided grant funding to support
development of this new resource.
